There are many shipping routes from China to the United States, and there are many routes to choose from from different departure ports to different destinations.

Port of Oakland: Also located in California on the east coast of San Francisco Bay, it is the fourth largest container port in the United States.
Port of San Francisco: On the west bank of San Francisco Bay, also known as the Port of San Francisco, it is one of the three major natural ports in the world.
Port of Seattle: In the northwestern United States, the western port of Washington State, is the second largest container port in the United States.
Port of New Jersey: Located at the junction of New York and New Jersey, at the mouth of the Hudson River and the Atlantic Ocean.
New York Port: One of the world's largest natural deep-water harbors, northeast of the Hudson River. It is the third largest container port in the United States. Most of the Amazon sellers from China to the US east route to this port.
Port of Houston: In southeastern Texas, in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico. It is the largest port in the southern United States.
The US-West routes generally start from Chinese ports (Yantian, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, etc.) and arrive at various ports in the US and West via the Pacific Ocean.

【There are two routes in the US East Route】
One is westbound, crossing the Strait of Malacca, then through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea, and finally through the Atlantic Ocean to the eastern United States. The other is eastbound, through the Pacific Ocean, then through the Panama Canal to the Atlantic Ocean and then to the eastern port of the United States.
At present, there are two routes, and large container ships can only go through the Suez Canal. The water level of the Suez Canal is deep, and there is no need to raise the water level. In theory, a cargo ship with a maximum capacity of 250,000 tons can pass, and the maximum draft is 20 meters. And with 50% OFF, the toll is cheaper, making more boats choose this route. There is a kind of ship called Suezmax container ship with a maximum load of 150,000-160,000 tons, a length of less than 274 meters, a width of not more than 48 meters, and a full-load draft of less than 17.3 meters.
The largest ship type allowed through the Panama Canal is 76,000 tons. The length of the ship should be less than 245 meters, the width of the ship should not be more than 32.2 meters, and the maximum allowable draft is 12.04 meters. Because the central part of the Panama Canal is relatively high, and the water level is 26 meters higher than the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, there are 6 locks in the entire canal to allow ships to pass through the canal by artificially raising the water level, which is time-consuming and the toll is much more expensive.
