What is Out of Gauge (OOG) Container?

OOG Container: Cargo that generally extends over and above the standard measurement (height, width and length) of a dry container.

OOG cargo is transported in Open Top (OT), Open Top High Cubes (OQ), Flat Racks (FR/FL), Platforms (PL), Flat Rack High Cubes (FQ), Super Racks (SR), due to the size of the cargo. Break Bulk Cargo is also a type of OOG cargo.

Open Top Containers
Open top containers are commonly used in transporting steel bars, general industrial goods, pipes, cables, timber, machinery and ore and other mining materials. The roof bows provide structural stability, support the tarps and offer additional stability for the container during lifting, stacking and transportation. When transporting your cargo using our open top containers we make sure the container is covered using a weatherproof, sturdy tarpaulin and secure straps to the lashing bars.

Flat Rack Containers
Flat rack containers are suitable for heavy cargo that requires loading from the sides or top such as machinery and pipes. Depending on your cargo will can supply you with lashing winches and lashing belts depending on the type of cargo. Flat rack containers are used more oftenly for the cargo that is extremely wide and/or high. Large machinery, vehicles on tracks, big reels can be loaded on this type of container.

Platform Containers
A platform container is a type of intermodal container used for transporting goods by ship. The container has a flat, level floor that allows it to be used as a platform for loading and unloading cargo. They are typically used for shipping heavy or bulky goods. This container is often used to transport machinery or other heavy equipment. The lashing rings, to which the cargo may be secured, are installed in the side rails.

Open Side Containers

Open side shipping containers have lockable side bi-fold doors that open a full 270 degrees, and lockable standard cargo door, with one whole side of the container opening outwards via two doors. Something that makes loading and unloading significantly easier, particularly if you're stacking goods with a forklift. Side door container can easily load/unload oversized pieces of equipment, machinery, etc.
