In this notes for exporting to USA by sea divided in 6 parts

Late Pickup Charges at The Port

Freight Rates

Weight Limit Regulations

Customs Clearance Rules

Service Standards

U.S. goods need meticulous service, and the service after the arrival of the goods is also very important. If within 15 days of the arrival of goods, if there is no customs broker for (PROCEED), the goods will enter the G.O. warehouse, G.O. warehouse charges are very high.

Agent Qualification Dudit

U.S. routes in addition to the various shipping companies, all the regular freight forwarders engaged in the U.S. line of transport are required to have in the United States mainland (FMC) registered freight Ltd. and have the official code of NVOCC, otherwise, if any problems occur in the U.S. transport process can not get the appropriate legal protection. First-class freight forwarder is not necessarily a registered member of FMC, so be sure to confirm in advance.

Details of Regulations

1.Confirmation of specific shipping destination

In the U.S. trade, many customers have different warehouses all over the U.S. It is very important to finally confirm their FINAL DESTINATION in the shipping process. Especially in the United States the same place name of the location is very much, such as Washington, there are 4 or 5, if the guest in the absence of the week name and zip code, it is very likely to send the wrong goods. The United States is a vast and sparse, the cost of towing are moving more than a thousand dollars, and the guests to confirm a clear division of responsibility is the most critical.

2. U.S. large customers to cooperate with suppliers to provide logistics services, many requirements

A. Customers often have partition requirements for loading containers. For some of the goods sold to foreign supermarkets should pay particular attention. (such as the order of placement, quantity requirements, the documents attached to the container)

B. On-time delivery according to the customer's requirements. As far as possible to track the dynamics of the container, many foreign customers will require the goods to the port before the specific time (SHIPPNG PERIOD), the factory's delay may cause a large penalty to foreign countries. The tracking of goods for logistics is also quite critical.

C. The documents are accurately and timely provided to foreign countries for customs clearance, generally speaking, foreign customs clearance can be 7 days before the arrival of the ship, in order to avoid possible DETENSION and DEMURRAGE, many times often because of the delay in the documents caused by foreign demurrage.

Late Pickup Charges at The Port

Demurrage charges: charged by the company, for large customers is possible to give more free use of the date.

Demurrage: charged by the shipping company's terminal, which varies from terminal to terminal.

Freight Rates

U.S. line all freight forwarding companies are using the contract price, but not every freight forwarding company has the U.S. line price, must have strong strength to sign directly with each shipping company U.S. line price. Because in the United States has a body called FMC, his role is to adjust the price of all shipping companies in the United States to ensure that the interests of U.S. customers.

Weight Limit Regulations

Here the weight limit = cargo weight + container weight. The cargo to the U.S. line has very strict weight requirements, and the weight limit is mainly affected by the road weight limit to the U.S. inland points, generally 17.3 tons for small containers and 19.5 tons for large high containers. But according to different ports also have different weight limit requirements, if at the request of the customer, really want to transport overweight cargo to the United States inland point, generally speaking there are three ways to deal with: 1.

1. Concealment

Booking data, customs data, manifest data all do small to acceptable weight for shipment. Disadvantage: If you are checked and weighed when you are on the road in the United States, you will face heavy fines.

2. Basic port distribution

After discharging the cargo at the basic port, allocate the overweight part and then transfer it separately. Disadvantage: If the inland point to be transferred is far away, it is costly.

3. Rail to inland point at basic port terminal

Some shipping companies have direct rail service to inland points at the basic port terminal in the US, so that the inland points can be reached. If you want to send it to the door point again, you can use 3 row wheels of overweight frame to deliver it locally, the cost of this section of the trailer is only about 30% more expensive than the general towing cost. Difficulty: to find such a shipping company, also ask for inland points with such service, and finally a good agent in the local area to help arrange the transfer of such overweight trailers.

The three methods mentioned above, the first method is generally not recommended. Due to the system, the chances of back check weighing on the U.S. highway are relatively high, and it is possible to lose more than you gain if you take a chance.

Customs Clearance Rules

1. The U.S. Customs receives the AMS declaration data from the exporting country after the ship leaves.

2. The local freight forwarder or customs clearance company in the United States must receive the required documents and the notice of arrival from the shipping company one week before the arrival of the ship.

3. Apply for import customs declaration and commodity inspection to the U.S. Customs, and submit documents to the shipping company at the port of destination for release of cargo.

4. Give the release certificate to the consignee's towing line or have the local agent arrange delivery to the consignee's designated warehouse.

5. The operation process of door-to-door delivery of cargo in TO DOOR case.

A. The goods must be handed over when the consignee is ready.

B. The towing company will only give the warehouse 2 hours of loading and unloading time, more than that will be charged by the hour. Door-to-door delivery must not allow cargo to exceed the U.S. road weight limit.
