According to the latest data from the Guangzhou Port Authority, the total number of container liner routes at Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port has jumped to 210 in 2025, including 175 foreign trade routes. All of the world’s top 20 liner companies operate businesses in Nansha. In recent years, the number of foreign trade routes at Nansha Port Area has increased by more than 10 annually, with 8 new routes added this year. This has built an efficient logistics network covering major ports worldwide, further shortening the spatial and temporal distance of cross-border trade.
In April this year, Guangzhou Port’s first direct route to the west coast of South America (WSA3 route) was officially launched. The WSA3 route connects Guangzhou Nansha Port with core Latin American ports such as Callao Port (Peru), Manzanillo Port (Mexico), and San Antonio Port (Chile). Its launch will effectively promote the upgrading of logistics channels between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and Latin America.
In May this year, the world-renowned shipping company Gold Star Line launched its first ro-ro export route from Guangzhou to Brazil.
The maiden voyage of Gold Star Line’s "Viking Mediterranean" ro-ro route (Nansha - Brazil) carried more than 1,500 self-owned brand vehicles from GAC Group and other Chinese automakers, injecting new impetus into Chinese auto companies’ in-depth development of the South American market.
In addition, Nansha Port has witnessed the maiden voyages of several important intercontinental routes this year, including the US4 direct route to the US East Coast launched by the "2M" Alliance, the ZCP US East Coast route jointly operated by ZIM Integrated Shipping Services and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and the HDS3 Los Angeles Express operated by Hapag-Lloyd.
