Recently, Evergreen Marine, Yang Ming Marine Transport, and Wan Hai Lines—Taiwan, China’s three major shipping companies—announced that they will jointly open a new direct route connecting North China and Indonesia (Evergreen/Yang Ming: CIM; Wan Hai: CS3).
In its notice, Wan Hai stated that the route will be operated by five ships with an actual capacity of 1,900 to 2,200 TEU for regular cruising services, with a voyage cycle of 35 days.
The port call sequence for the CS3 route is as follows:
The launch of this new route is mainly to meet the booming two-way trade between China and Southeast Asian markets, especially the strong growth of the Indonesian market.
By providing direct shipping services from North China to Indonesia, it can significantly shorten transportation time and improve service efficiency.
This new route will complement the existing China (Central China)-Indonesia route (CTI), making the entire transportation network from China to Indonesia more dense and complete, and fully meeting customers’ diverse logistics needs.
Market analysis suggests that after the China-US trade war, the global supply chain has accelerated its restructuring, with many industries shifting to Southeast Asia. This has led to a sharp increase in cargo volume on the China-Southeast Asia route segment.
