Recently, COSCO SHIPPING upgraded its MEX6 route, connecting Yangpu Port in Hainan, China, with Abu Dhabi Port in the UAE. The addition of the "Jin Xing Yuan" vessel, alongside the existing "Xin Hai Kou" vessel, strengthens the logistics network between China and the UAE, further supporting the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dual-Vessel Operation: Starting in April 2025, the MEX6 route will operate on a bi-weekly schedule, significantly enhancing cargo capacity and efficiency.
Local and Regional Benefits: Goods from Hainan destined for the Middle East can now be shipped directly from Yangpu Port, while cargo from surrounding regions like the Beibu Gulf and Greater Bay Area can use Yangpu as a transshipment hub. The MEX6 route, launched in early 2024, has already established Yangpu and Abu Dhabi as sister hub ports under the Belt and Road Initiative.
