On August 21 local time, a CGTN reporter learned that Türkiye has implemented comprehensive restrictions on maritime transport related to Israel.
According to the new policy, vessels flying the Israeli flag or owned by Israeli companies are prohibited from entering Turkish ports. Furthermore, vessels flying the Turkish flag are banned from sailing to Israel.
Sources indicate that this restriction also covers all goods related to Israel, including container transshipments; no operations are allowed in Turkish ports.
Additionally, the Turkish government requires shipowners to sign a declaration confirming that their vessels have no business ties with Israel and are not carrying goods or military supplies destined for Israel.
A reminder to all cargo owners and freight forwarders: exercise caution when shipping goods to these two countries, plan transportation solutions in advance, and check sailing schedules and port calls.
