Shipping company SeaLead announced a major upgrade to its "5CX" route service, launching a new route structure. The goal is to enhance operational efficiency via the Suez Canal and connect major ports on the Far East-Mediterranean trade route. The newly revised weekly shipping service will be jointly operated by SeaLead and its partners.
The upgraded weekly route will link key ports including Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port of Alexandria, Aliaga Port, Istanbul, Mersin, Jeddah, and Port Klang, before returning to Qingdao. According to the new schedule, the first voyage is planned to depart from Qingdao on October 27, 2025.
According to the company, in addition to speed and reliability, the upgraded 5CX route service will provide extensive coverage to key regions in North Africa, the Black Sea, and the Mediterranean via Aliaga. This creates broader market access and enhanced connectivity for customers, supporting the growing trade flows between Asia, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.
Doreen Yeo, Chief Commercial Officer of SeaLead, stated that this adjustment reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening global trade links. "By reconfiguring the 5CX route service, we have improved reliability and efficiency across the entire route network and expanded coverage to major global markets."
The launch of the new 5CX route service marks another step for SeaLead in expanding global connectivity and providing customer-centric logistics solutions on major international trade corridors.
