For e-commerce shipments from the United States, what shipping routes do shipping companies offer?
US Sea Freight - Fast Shipping
US sea freight fast shipping typically refers to e-commerce fast ships, also known as FBA fast ships. These types of vessels are usually small cargo ships with limited space as a drawback. However, they have high sailing speeds and fewer port calls, resulting in efficient delivery.
CMA CGM
EXX route: Ningbo - Shanghai - Los Angeles.
The usual departure schedule is every Wednesday from Ningbo Port and every Thursday from Shanghai Port. The transportation time is approximately 12 days from Ningbo Port to Los Angeles Port and 11 days from Shanghai to Los Angeles. The main advantage is the full-wheel terminal operation at FMS Port, where goods are directly unloaded onto chassis and transported to a dedicated EXX container yard, which facilitates faster cargo retrieval.
EX1 Route: Shanghai - Busan - Los Angeles. Official data states that the transit time from Shanghai to Los Angeles is 12 days.
Evergreen EMC Express (Yantian Express)
HTW Route calls at Taipei - Xiamen - Hong Kong - Yantian - Los Angeles Port - Auckland in that sequence.
As Yantian Port is the final domestic port of call, the transit time from Yantian to Los Angeles Port is usually around 13 days.
Evergreen offers regular services without the need for appointments, and containers are given priority for discharging at the destination port. However, it is important to note that the availability of containers for pickup depends on the vessel's berthing at the terminal, which might result in slightly longer overall transit time compared to the ideal 13-day timeframe.
Matson's CLX Express
Route calls at Ningbo - Shanghai - Long Beach Port in that sequence.
The ships depart from Shanghai on Wednesdays and from Ningbo on Tuesdays. The transit time from Shanghai to Long Beach Port is 10 days, while from Ningbo to Long Beach Port it is 12 days.
MAX Express
The MAX Express route departs from Shanghai on Thursdays and from Ningbo on Wednesdays. The transit time from Shanghai to Long Beach Port is 11 days, while from Ningbo to Long Beach Port it is 12 days.
There have been some changes to the service:
1. An additional vessel has been added to the route.
2. The transit time has been improved to match that of Matson's CLX Express, taking 11 days to arrive at Long Beach Port.
3. The container discharge terminal at Ningbo has been changed to Ningbo Meidong Port.
The main advantages of the MAX Express route include the dedicated terminal at Long Beach Port for efficient unloading and fixed sailing schedules with two departures per week.
Note: The Matson CLX route does not call at Shenzhen, so sellers in South China need to transport their goods via land to Ningbo or Shanghai for loading onto the ship.
ZIM Express
ZIM line focuses on three main routes: ZIM ZEX, ZIM ZX2, and ZIM ZX3. Both ZIM ZEX and ZIM ZX2 offer direct service from Yantian to the Port of Los Angeles, with an official transit time of 12 days.
ZIM ZEX calls at Dachan Bay every Monday and departs from the Yantian Port in Shenzhen.
The sailing schedule for ZIM ZEX is every six days, with departures on Wednesdays. It takes 12 days to arrive at the Port of Los Angeles. From there, shipments can be transferred to other locations such as Glendale, AZ, Dallas, TX, Perris, CA, and more.
