In order to meet the needs of the market, Wanhai and Evergreen have respectively opened the "durian route" from Laem Chabang, Thailand to Guangzhou Nansha Port, which can shorten the shipping time to 4 to 5 days.

On April 25, Wanhai Shipping announced that from April 23, the company will open a "durian line" for 17 voyages, aiming to provide fast, accurate and stable services for customers with fruit transportation needs.

The route goes north from Laem Chabang, Thailand, and can reach Guangzhou Nansha Port in 4 to 5 days, providing nearly 400 cold plug counters per week on average.

It is reported that Guangzhou Nansha Port and Nansha Customs are expediting the processing of freezers stranded in the port, and reserve more than 1,400 cold storage counters for the upcoming durian season.

The 162 inspection bays of the international cold chain field in the Nansha port area are also undergoing intensive inspection and are expected to be put into operation in early May this year. By then, together with the 120 inspection bays of Haixin cold storage, Guangzhou Nansha Port will have nearly 300 inspection bays in total.

In addition, Nansha Customs also provides services such as ship inspection priority, document review priority, and inspection priority to improve the cold chain service in the Greater Bay Area.

In addition to Wan Hai Shipping, Evergreen Shipping also issued an announcement a few days ago, saying that when durian, mangosteen and other fruits are listed in large quantities, in order to meet the market demand, the "Thailand Laem Chabang Durian Express" will be opened for 8 voyages from April to June. "Line", double docking at the ports of the Greater Bay Area (Guangzhou Nansha Port and Hong Kong Port), and the shipping time is shortened to 4 to 5 days.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, the fruit production capacity is expected to be around 5.42 million tons this year, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Among them, 1.48 million tons of durians, a year-on-year increase of 22%.

It is understood that due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, most durian and longan shipments in Southeast Asia this year will be diverted to sea transportation.
