SEKO Logistics opens new regional distribution centers on the US East Coast to manage growth in Baltimore and Charlotte.

“Our demand for warehouse space in the U.S. is growing rapidly, and our new facilities in Baltimore and Charlotte are the first of many we will open over the next 12 months to serve the growth of our customers. This latest expansion follows the opening of larger SEKO e-commerce and omni-channel centers in other prime locations including Los Angeles, Chicago, New Jersey and Atlanta," said Brian Bourke, SEKO Chief Growth Officer.

The new Baltimore operation offers more than 160,000 square feet of storage space to support customers in the medical, e-commerce and defense industries. SEKO's defense and commercial logistics solutions in Baltimore include specialty inspection and acceptance, packaging and labeling, reverse logistics and last mile services.

Additionally, the facility is ISO 13485 certified to handle and manage the logistics of medical devices, according to a statement. Meanwhile, the company has invested in a tenfold expansion of its Charlotte, North Carolina facility.

SEKO's new 110,000 sq. ft. warehouse operation is fully C-TPAT compliant. According to the company, the facility features 24 dock doors, incorporating the technology, equipment and security systems needed to scale according to each client's project requirements.

SEKO's expansion into Baltimore and Charlotte will also increase its focus on white-glove and cross-dock services to provide value-added freight forwarding services at both locations.

“Baltimore is a market where we are seeing particularly strong growth from e-commerce customers who see the Port of Baltimore as a low-cost alternative that allows them to achieve next-day delivery to customers in New York. Charlotte is also a key investment for SEKO region, as it is one of the fastest growing regions in the U.S., we are seeing a significant increase in demand in this market,”commented Bourke.
