On March 18, ONE made an announcement that it plans to add 6,500 reefer containers to meet the growing demand for transportation.

The plan was made based on ONE's optimistic expectations for the future of the reefer market, and the company expects demand for reefer containers to continue to grow this year.

In addition, ONE emphasized the environmental significance of this new container batch.

According to ONE, the new containers will no longer use solvent-based paints, which traditionally cause pollution, but water-based paints.

According to ONE, the use of water-based coatings will help reduce the emissions of volatile organic compounds, by 80-90%. These volatile organic compounds can cause pollution of the environment, which adversely affects air quality and visibility.

ONE said it is currently working to apply the latest Internet of Things (IoT) technology to its refrigerated container business to provide critical real-time information, including temperature and humidity inside the containers, to enhance cargo management.

The announcement also stated that the container purchase program includes 500 refrigerated containers equipped with refrigerated container air conditioning (CA) technology.

CA is understood to be an effective way to regulate atmospheric composition to extend shelf life and maintain the appearance, freshness and quality of perishable products such as apples, avocados and bananas.

Commenting on this sub-purchase container program, Hiroki Tsujii, ONE's General Manager of Marketing and Commercial, said, "Our refrigerated containers are among the largest in the industry and are equipped with the most advanced technology for handling perishable goods. We are also contributing to environmental protection through the use of water-based coatings."
