On October 29, Hapag-Lloyd announced the launch of the Cherry Express 2022 Service, effective from the 46th to the 51st week of 2022.

Hapag-Lloyd said the direct route from Valparaiso, Chile to Hong Kong will only take 22 days. In addition, through a comprehensive connection network, goods can be flexibly transported through Hong Kong to various ports in Asia.

According to reports, Hapag-Lloyd will add three additional ships during the peak cargo week. At the same time, Cherry Express will add direct shipping to Shanghai, Yantian and Nansha in 2022.

It is understood that the new route is also equipped with intelligent monitoring and Hapag-Lloyd Live system, capable of real-time data tracking.

Hapag-Lloyd, which is committed to "building the world's most intelligent container fleet", launched the Hapag-Lloyd Live project as early as 2019, and for the first time tracked and monitored about 100,000 reefer containers in real time.

Hapag-Lloyd said that digital container transportation will be further developed in the future. It is planned that by early 2023, Hapag-Lloyd Live can provide tracking services for customers' standard containers.

Hapag-Lloyd said the new technology will provide it with additional advantages, including earlier detection of cargo delays, automatic notification of affected customers and initiation of appropriate countermeasures.
