Against the backdrop of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Fourth Plenary Session, which emphasized optimizing regional economic layouts and expanding high-level opening-up, clear requirements were put forward for the high-standard construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. This has provided a strategic roadmap for COSCO SHIPPING Holdings/COSCO SHIPPING Lines to align its services with national development goals.

In response, COSCO SHIPPING Lines has launched the upgraded CAP Biweekly Service, connecting Yangpu (Hainan), Nansha, the South Pacific, and Northern Australia. By increasing service frequency at Yangpu Port and adding direct calls at Nansha Port, the new route establishes an efficient and convenient maritime trade corridor between Hainan Yangpu, South China, the South Pacific, and Northern Australia. The maiden voyage is scheduled to depart from Hainan Xiaochantan Port on January 1, 2026.

Core Focus: Elevating Service Efficiency & Network Coverage

The upgraded CAP route prioritizes enhanced service capabilities. While retaining the fast transit advantage of the Ningbo-Townsville service, it expands the logistics network by adding direct Nansha calls and increasing Yangpu Port’s service frequency. This optimization achieves precise coverage and seamless connection of regional trade corridors, offering high-quality, flexible shipping solutions for enterprises along the route and driving the quality and efficiency of regional economic and trade exchanges.

Key Advantages of the Upgraded CAP Route:

  • Xiaochantan Port’s first biweekly service linking Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Northern Australia.

  • New direct service from Nansha to PNG and Northern Australia.

  • 10-day fast transit service from Ningbo to Townsville.

Port Rotation (Southbound):

Xiaochantan → Hong Kong → Nansha → Ningbo → Townsville → Brisbane → Lae → Port Moresby → Darwin

Port Rotation (Northbound):

Townsville → Brisbane → Lae → Port Moresby → Darwin → Xiaochantan → Hong Kong → Nansha → Ningbo
COSCO SHIPPING Lines stated that it will continue to optimize its global route network, deepen its presence in supply chain services, and build a more intelligent, efficient, and reliable three-dimensional logistics network.
