COSCO SHIPPING Lines announced the launch of a new premium route connecting Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam — the JTV Route.
Meanwhile, it optimized services on multiple associated routes. With higher-quality maritime solutions, the company aims to inject new vitality into trade between China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and surrounding regions, providing customers with more efficient, stable, fast, and high-quality transportation services.
The JTV Route kicked off its maiden voyage in Kobe on October 28. Its port rotation is: Kobe - Nagoya - Tokyo - Yokohama - Nansha - Laem Chabang - Ho Chi Minh - Yangpu - Shekou - Quanzhou* - Kobe (*provisional call).
Advantages of the JTV Route
- Efficient direct shipping service between Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam It enables direct transportation from major Japanese ports to Laem Chabang (Thailand) and Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam). Vessels take less than two weeks to sail from Yokohama (the last Japanese port) to Laem Chabang and Ho Chi Minh, significantly shortening the overall transportation cycle and bringing faster delivery and higher certainty to customers.
- New direct shipping connections between South China and Southeast Asia The newly launched direct service between Laem Chabang and Shekou, along with the existing direct routes from Nansha to Laem Chabang and Ho Chi Minh to Shekou, provides customers with options of higher frequency and shorter delivery times. These direct channels can effectively reduce transshipment links, further shorten voyage time, and help customers improve supply chain operational efficiency.
- Sustained direct shipping empowerment between Japan, Southeast Asia, and Yangpu The route will continue to deeply empower the strategic value of Yangpu (Hainan). With northbound calls at Yangpu, the new route also adds a direct shipping and transshipment network from Yangpu to Japan, building a convenient maritime channel connecting Yangpu with Japan and Southeast Asia. This measure will significantly enhance Yangpu’s function as a regional logistics hub, making it a cargo distribution center radiating to surrounding areas.
COSCO SHIPPING Lines stated that the JTV Route is supported by stable capacity investment and scientific schedule design, maintaining high-frequency sailings and smooth connections. It interconnects with existing routes, providing diversified connection solutions and flexible port coverage to help customers build a more efficient and stable regional route network.
